Saturday June 10

Left Riverhead at 7:30 am. Gary’s first nap came at the New Jersey rest stop about 9:00 am. Gary’s first one-hour nap at 12:30 pm at a rest stop near the Delaware Water Gap. Found a Subway and had lunch before heading out again. **Mile 180 on I-80 – Highest elevation on I-80 east of the Mississippi River. Pulled into a Flying J in Brookville, PA where we cooked some chicken cutlets, peas and homemade soup. Great meal for a camper!
Got a phone call from Jessica – Yesenia in the hospital with RSV – Respiratory System Virus. She’s intubated and sedated to aid in her recovery…Jessica was worried she wouldn’t make it through but she wasn't getting complete information. My conversation with the nurse put our fears at ease…she will be OK after a few days of rest and sedation.

Welcome to Gary's & Sue's & Joe's & Joan's Excellent Adventure!

Beginning on June 10, 2006, we, Gary and Sue, left home in Riverhead NY with our 34 foot Airstream and took off for Alaska. Here is the story, as much of it as we can publish, day by day and with photos on occasion.
